No one seems to be writing opinion pieces quite the way I would, so I decided to do it myself.

The name? Taverns are places where one goes to discuss the interesting events and things in the world, so this is my tavern.

I will offer my views on politics, economics, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

Tax Cuts as a Job Creation Plan

"Hypocritical fraud."

That's what Lawrence Mishel, president of the Economic Policy Institute, a liberal- leaning Washington think tank responded when he was asked to describe the impact of Bush's tax cuts as an economic-stimulus measure.

The San Francisco Chronicle provides numbers that show that the rhetoric from the Bush administration simply does not describe what the tax cuts will really do.
