| No one seems to be writing opinion pieces quite the way I would, so I decided to do it myself. The name? Taverns are places where one goes to discuss the interesting events and things in the world, so this is my tavern. I will offer my views on politics, economics, and whatever else strikes my fancy.

Yesterday Bush said that the "Mission Accomplished" sign on the carrier in his famous "War is over" speech was put up by the Navy, not by his advance people.The president told reporters the sign was put up by the Navy, not the White House. "I know it was attributed somehow to some ingenious advance man from my staff -- they weren't that ingenious, by the way," the president said Tuesday. CNN Washington Bureau Next Bush will announce "It was the Pentagon and Tommy Franks who decided to invade Iraq, not the White House. I know it has been attributed to the White House, but who in the White House could even conceive of such a plan?" |
