Brewer's Tavern

No one seems to be writing opinion pieces quite the way I would, so I decided to do it myself.

The name? Taverns are places where one goes to discuss the interesting events and things in the world, so this is my tavern.

I will offer my views on politics, economics, and whatever else strikes my fancy.
I will occasionally publish the entire article from another journal for purposes of causing discussion.

Broad Shiite attack

The administration tells us that the problem in South Iraq is with the followers of al Sadr who is a minor Shiite cleric. Apperently if we just deal with al Sadr's followers then the problem will go away. The rest, supposedly, support the American invasion.

Now the New York Times reports "United States forces are confronting a broad-based Shiite uprising that goes well beyond supporters of one militant Islamic cleric who has been the focus of American counterinsurgency efforts, United States intelligence officials said Wednesday. "

Has the Bush administration ever put out any honest information since George was apointed? Everything is spun to exaggerate the good stuff and minimize the politically damaging. Both Bush and his spokesman, Scott McClelland should be required to wear a sign that says "Liar" whenever they speak in public!
